Banner and sign materials compared
The right material for every sign and banner. Vinyl weights, display film, corrugated plastic and poster paper, and where each one belongs.
Vinyl banners for indoors and out
Vinyl Banners come in 13 oz scrim vinyl and 18 oz blockout vinyl, with hemmed edges and corner grommets. 13 oz scrim is the everyday choice for storefronts and events. 18 oz blockout is heavier and fully opaque, so it lies flatter, holds up better to wind and handling, and suits banners that stay up for months.
Retractable banners for trade shows
Retractable Banners print on 10 mil premium display film that rolls into an aluminum stand and packs into a carry bag. The film stays flat when it is pulled up and resists curling, which matters for a display set up and packed away many times.
Yard signs and posters
Yard Signs are 4 mm corrugated plastic with H-stakes: light, waterproof and made for lawns, open houses and events. Posters on 100 lb gloss or matte text are for indoor walls and windows; they are not weatherproof.
Prepare large artwork for viewing distance
Large prints are seen from farther away, so 150 dpi at final size is enough for banners. Keep critical text and logos 2 in from a banner’s edge so hems and grommets never cut into them, and choose type large enough to read from where people will stand.
