EDDM explained: Every Door Direct Mail

Reach every door on a route, without a mailing list. How USPS Every Door Direct Mail works, which mailers qualify, and how to plan a campaign.

What EDDM is

Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM) is a USPS service that delivers a mailer to every address on the carrier routes you choose. You do not need names or a mailing list: pieces are addressed to the “Local Postal Customer”, which makes EDDM a simple way to reach a neighborhood around a shop, restaurant or office.

Which mailers qualify

EDDM pieces must be flats: larger than a postcard, with at least one side longer than 11.5 in or taller than 6.125 in, and no larger than 15 × 12 in. Every Door Mailers come in 6.5 × 9 in and 8.5 × 11 in on 14 pt or 16 pt cardstock, sizes chosen to fit those rules. The indicia and mailing area need room on the address side.

Choose routes and quantities

Routes are chosen by ZIP code, with counts for residential and business addresses. Order enough mailers to cover every address on each route you pick, plus a few spares. Check current USPS rules and postage before the campaign, because they can change.

What designXprint prints and what it does not

Every Door Mailers are printed here. Route selection, bundling, postage and drop-off at the Post Office are separate services; request a custom estimate when you want help with the mailing itself.
