Designing direct mail postcards: the address area
Make room for the address. Know what to prepare before planning a postcard mailing campaign.
Separate printing from mailing
The catalog’s direct-mail products configure printing only in this sandbox. Postage, audience selection, address processing, postal preparation, and acceptance require a separately scoped estimate. A print order does not place a mailing campaign.
Reserve the right zones
Address panels, indicia, barcodes, and clear areas must meet the requirements of the chosen postal service and mailing class. Confirm those dimensions and placement before finalizing the reverse-side design.
Choose how to reach the audience
Addressed mail uses a recipient list. Route-based campaigns use approved route data and counts. These methods have different data, quantity, preparation, and authorization requirements.
Protect recipient information
Do not put recipient lists into public artwork or a general support message. An operational mailing workflow requires a dedicated private upload, validation, retention policy, and explicit approval of the final audience.
